New World Workshops

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the workshops about?

The workshops are about getting children involved in performing whatever their experience or ability. The children will have a fun experience learning songs and dances from 'Glee'. It’s a chance for children to spend time with others who love singing, dancing and acting.

Can my child take part?

Yes as long as they are between 5-16 years of age then they can take part. No experience is necessary and all abilities are welcome. New World is a professional theatre company, with a professional creative team of singing, dancing and acting coaches. It is a very exciting project and we are sure your child will love being involved.

Have your staff been CRB checked?

All of our staff working with your children are fully CRB checked and most also have a full Chaperone Licence. This is something we take very seriously, your child's welfare is the most important thing to us. Legally local councils demand that we abide by their guidelines for professional theatre production companies (these are actually stricter than those required for schools and playgroups).

Can children attend the same workshop as their friends and family?

Yes. There are a limited number of places available in each group for whoever is interested. Please make sure you book in together online as places will go very quickly and once a group is full, we cannot add extra children to it.

What should children bring / wear for the workshop?

There will be breaks for refreshments so all children must bring enough food and drink for themselves to cover the time they are on the workshop. With regards to dress code etc. children may wear whatever clothing / footwear they choose. Obviously they will be learning dances and movement during the workshop, so suitable attire would be recommended.

Can I stay with my child during the workshop?

Unfortunately we are unable to have parents / carers in the actual workshop areas. Children will be signed in and out at the main reception of each workshop venue. We would also recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the workshop is due to begin, so that children are registered, settled in and ready to start on time.
